Hitman’s developer is working on a James Bond game

Have you ever just looked at a franchise and a developer and felt all the pieces click into place? That is what happened when IO Interactive announced something that wasn’t Hitman yesterday, with the studio hopping from one gentleman in a suit to another, this one with a license to kill.

A very short teaser shows the iconic gun barrel and brass instrument intro with the codename Project 007.

Later the official James Bond account revealed this will be a brand new Bond, complete with an origin story.

The team that has you being super suave and infiltrating places to collect information and kill people, now working on a game about being someone super suave that infiltrates places with a collection of stunning wits and fantastic gadgets? Sounds like a match made in heaven.

“It’s true that once in a while, the stars do align in our industry. Creating an original Bond game is a monumental undertaking and I truly believe that IO Interactive, working closely with our creative partners at EON and MGM, can deliver something extremely special for our players and communities. Our passionate team is excited to unleash their creativity into the iconic James Bond universe and craft the most ambitious game in the history of our studio,” said IO studio boss Hakan Abrak.

If it has the letters RPG in it, I am there. Still battling with balancing trying to play every single game that grabs my interest, getting 100% in a JRPG, and devoting time to my second home in Azeroth.
