Cyberpunk 2077 won’t have raytracing for AMD cards at launch

If you have buffed up your PC ahead of the eye candy that Cyberpunk 2077 intends to offer, you might be sad to hear that the raytracing goodness won’t be available to you at launch if you went with AMD.

The system requirements for the game released recently, and for raytracing only Nvidia RTX cards were listed. When CD Projekt Red’s global community lead, Marcin Momot, was asked about it on Twitter, this was the reply:

CD Projekt Red worked with Nvidia as their “official technology partner” so it looks like they got dibs. Hopefully “as soon as we can” is close enough to launch for the people who have AMD RTX cards.

Makes me glad I am playing on console and missing this whole situation completely. And by missing it completely, I mean I don’t have an RTX GPU. Hah!

If it has the letters RPG in it, I am there. Still battling with balancing trying to play every single game that grabs my interest, getting 100% in a JRPG, and devoting time to my second home in Azeroth.
