Fallout 76’s Steel Dawn launches early by mistake

What is time anymore? I battle with knowing which day it is, and apparently, I am not the only one. Fallout 76’s next big update Steel Dawn, was supposed to go live on December 1. But it is live already, as a bunch of people learnt as they logged in yesterday.

The update released early due to an error that caused Xbox players to download the update a week early. Once they had the update installed, those Xbox players couldn’t play the game, because they were trying to run content that wasn’t live yet. Bethesda then chose to just release the new update, rather than getting everyone to roll back, just to redownload it a week later.

“We immediately investigated ways to get our Xbox players back in-game as soon as possible, but, through our discussions, the entire BGS team felt confident that Steel Dawn is ready to go. As a result, instead of rolling back the update and making everyone wait another week, we’ve decided to release the Steel Dawn Update on all platforms.”

The update will explain why and how the Brotherhood of Steel has a presence in Appalachia and will overhaul the hunger and thirst systems. Now you no longer take a penalty for being thirsty or hungry, but you get bigger buffs for staying hydrated and well-fed.

If it has the letters RPG in it, I am there. Still battling with balancing trying to play every single game that grabs my interest, getting 100% in a JRPG, and devoting time to my second home in Azeroth.
