While we were stuck indoors for most of the year, we got to experience the world, or that of others through the media and entertainment we consumed. One of the best forms of this, was going on some sort of adventure in a video game, and over the past year, we got some really great choices, The category is often dominated by the open-world type games, for good reason, and this year there are very few exceptions.
Ghost of Tsushima
The journey and story of Jin Sakai, travelling across his island of Tsushima, is one of the best told in a long time and is definitely worth experiencing. It is has a perfect blend of great action, spectacular set-pieces and wonderful exploration to really make it stand out this year. It’s also the way it encourages you to explore through sight and sound, almost encouraging to go see what is over the horizon without ever consulting your map for the next question mark.
It is a beautifully crafted open-world action-adventure game and is definitely worthy of this award.
