Everspace 2 hit Steam Early Access last night, meaning you can head out into the far reaches of space for a bit.
Rockfish Games describes the game as a fast-paced, single-player shooter with deep exploration, tons of loot, and modern RPG elements. Also it looks really pretty to just zoom around from planet to planet.
“Experience a thrilling story set in a vivid, handcrafted open-world full of secrets and perils on your journey as a former clone space pilot to become human after all.”
The first 12 hours of the story campaign has full English voice acting, as well as some of the side missions in the first two star systems. Rockfish says the early access build has at least 25 hours of gameplay, and will introduce pilots to the various core gameplay systems, ranging from space combat to exploration, mining and more. There are five different player ship subclasses to fly around in.
Rockfish expects the game to be in early access for 12 to 18 months. Now do I wait until 2022 or do I go hop in a spaceship right now?
