Want some VR? Sony’s PlayStation VR Spotlight will have you reaching for your helmet

If you have a PlayStation VR setup and have been wondering what will have you donning your helmet and swinging your arms around for next, then wonder no more. During a PSVR Spotlight event, Sony looked at a whole bunch of games heading to PSVR.

First on the list was Doom 3 VR Edition. Remember 2004’s first-person shooter? Well it is back with new textures and sound effects and ready for the VR treatment. Get your chainsaw out and remember to check dark corners for things that want to eat your face. The game includes the Resurrection of Evil and Lost Missions expansions and arrives on March 29.

nDreams has a game called Fracked, which sees players running around a mountain fracking facility that is overrun by inter-dimensional creatures that want to destroy Earth. Get ready to ski, base jump, zip line and dash from cover to cover as you wipe out the aliens. Fracked will launch during summer.

Zenith: The Last City – The Fracture is a JRPG-inspired MMO, if you couldn’t guess from a game title that has that much punctuation. Get ready to explore a massive world, grind enemies, delve into dungeons and more as you throw, block and dodge attacks. Zenith has no specified launch window.

After the Fall is a co-op FPS in an icy cold alternate 1980s LA. Get ready for the post-apocalypse with zombies in terrifying hordes. Oh and the zombies seem pretty quick. Thankfully you have some great weapons, inspired by the 80s. Anyone for a cassette player that is now a missile launcher? Vertigo’s game arrives in Summer.

I Expect You To Die 2: The Spy and the Liar puts you in the shoes of a secret agent with telekinetic abilities, and you are going to need them if you want to solve the various brain-teasing puzzles on offer. Stay alive and dig deeper until you find the diabolical plot running underneath. The game heads to PSVR later this year.

The spotlight ended with Song in the Smoke, a survival game by 17-BIT. Get ready to hunt and scavenge, craft weapons and explore. Playing in VR will make some of these encounters pretty intense as you come face to face with large beasties that are trying to eat your face off. The game launches in 2021.

If it has the letters RPG in it, I am there. Still battling with balancing trying to play every single game that grabs my interest, getting 100% in a JRPG, and devoting time to my second home in Azeroth.
