Square Enix says it is “confident” that the latest Outriders patch will fix the terrible, terrible bug that wipes out player inventories.
Things aren’t completely smooth yet though, as there is an announcement discussing potential post-patch oddities which sound terrible. If you bump into multiplayer connectivity issues… more a case of when than if… there is a chance it will look like your inventory just got wiped. While you shudder at all your digital hoard disappearing like smoke, apparently it is just “momentarily invisible” and a restart of the game should fix things up. Thought you might need to wait a few minutes to see the items come back.
This patch doesn’t do anything about already destroyed inventories, which are “still out highest priority”. Apparently the patch is to stop more inventories going the path of the nether.
“While we are confident that the patch will prevent inventory wipes in future, we do want to use the weekend to continue monitoring the situation and ensure that no more players are encountering any related issues before we move onto the restoration process. As soon as we are satisfied by the patch’s effectiveness, we will share extra details including timelines of our upcoming Inventory Restoration process.”
