The Witcher 3 director resigns after workplace bullying investigation

Konrad Tomaszkiewicz, the game director of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, has left CD Projekt Red. Tomaszkiewicz also was second director and head of production for Cyberpunk 2077. A Bloomberg report details Tomaszkiewicz being the subject of an internal investigation based on accusations of bullying. While a commission found him not guilty, Tomaszkiewicz chose to resign.

In an email to the rest of the studio’s staff, Tomaszkiewicz said “a lot of people are feeling fear, stress, or discomfort when working with me.” In the email he apologised “for all the bad blood” and mentioned plans to work on changing his behaviour.

Tomaszkiewicz has been with CD Projekt Red for a long time, with credits as far back as 2007’s The Witcher, where he worked in story design. For The Witcher 2 he was lead quest designer.

Tomaszkiewicz  is not the only high profile resignation this year, with lead gameplay designer Andrzej Zawadzki leaving just a month ago.

If it has the letters RPG in it, I am there. Still battling with balancing trying to play every single game that grabs my interest, getting 100% in a JRPG, and devoting time to my second home in Azeroth.
