Supermassive’s Dark Pictures Anthology takes us into a buried Sumerian temple

Supermassive just teased the third entry into its standalone horror series, the Dark Pictures Anthology. Called House of Ashes, get ready for all-new frights and choices as we head deep underground.

Welcome to Iraq in 2003. As part of a military unit under fire from Iraqi forces in the Zagros mountains, your unit fights back, which appears to unsettle the area you are in. “The resulting firefight causes an earth tremor where both sides fall into the ruins of a buried Sumerian temple. With all communication severed, our protagonists are trapped in a terrifying underworld they must navigate to escape, unaware that something ancient and evil has awakened in the shadows and has found a new prey to hunt.”

In the dark bowels of the earth, trapped with former enemies and realising there is something worse down there that thinks both factions are prey? Sounds terrifying.

The latest trailer really just sets the mood, but promises to show more on May 27 at 6 pm local time.

There is no release date, but it is expected before the end of the year on Xbox One, Xbox Series, PS4, PS5 and PC.

If it has the letters RPG in it, I am there. Still battling with balancing trying to play every single game that grabs my interest, getting 100% in a JRPG, and devoting time to my second home in Azeroth.
