This year’s digital E3 event will have an awards show

This year’s E3 event is already less than two weeks away! And as we get ever closer to the 12th (the official opening day) news is harder and harder to come by. I mean, it makes sense. Developers and the like are keeping all the juicy info for their E3 presentations. I’ve got to be honest, it does make the life of a writer a little difficult. However, for those of you out there that are already anticipating what new games will be revealed during the show and like to see awards being presented (sure there’s got to be some of you out there)… you’ll be happy to know that E3 will have an official awards show.

You can check out the full details as revealed in the press release here, but basically “editors from IGN, GameSpot, PC Gamer and GamesRadar+” will be voting to determine the most anticipated games from the show. According to the President and CEO of the ESA, Stanley Pierre-Louis, this is what we can look forward to:

For this year’s event, we are collaborating with editors at some of the world’s leading video game media outlets to create the Official E3 2021 Awards Show, recognizing the show’s most anticipated games. The broadcast is going to be packed with exciting announcements and reveals, and celebrating innovative publishers and developers is an ideal way to close E3 2021.

The Awards Show will be broadcast on Tuesday the 15th of June – the final day of the E3 2021. Of course, your local SA Gamer team will also be bringing you our views of the show too – So keep an eye out for some of that over the next few weeks!
