Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart is just around the corner, with the lombax’s adventure continuing on Friday. Before you run off and delete a bunch of stuff on your PS5 to make space, fret not. Rift Apart is an easy to manage 33 GB.
After the many hefty downloads and file sizes on the PS5, it is great to see something on the smaller end of the scale. Small and nimble, just like the game’s heroes.
Insomniac community chief James Stevenson explained on Twitter why the game takes up so little space. “Sizes are getting smaller on native PS5 games due to the compression techniques and SSD!”
When compared against space hogs like Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (186GB) or Mass Effect Legendary Edition (105GB) and with Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade on the way, my poor PS5’s SSD will be happy to have a few slimmer games between those bigger ones.
