Battlefield 2042 has no campaign, but no battle royale either

EA finally revealed what the next Battlefield game is going to be about, and we are moving away from historical conflicts and zipping into the future. Welcome to Battlefield 2042, which won’t have a single-player campaign and won’t have a battle royale mode either.

Battlefield 2042 will feature 128 player matches on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series, while previous gen players will have 64 player matches. You can also play against AI bots, either alone or with friends.

Get ready for a world where climate change has led to an all-out war. Grim skylines and armed robots that look a lot like those Boston Dynamics dog-style bots are shown, but so are massive whirlwinds and someone ejecting out of their jet mid-dogfight to shoot an RPG before climbing back in the cockpit.

Battlefield 2042 will feature three game modes, with Conquest and Breakthrough falling under the All-Out Warfare Banner. There is also a squad-based offering called Hazard Zone, and a third mode that we will see during EA’s Play event next month.

If it has the letters RPG in it, I am there. Still battling with balancing trying to play every single game that grabs my interest, getting 100% in a JRPG, and devoting time to my second home in Azeroth.
