Look, I try my best to not roll my eyes every time I see the words battle royale because I know there are some pretty fun ones out there and it is just that my heart doesn’t handle how so many of them give you long stretches of nothing but worrying about every sound or movement, then everything ends in a short stressful burst. Now the vampires are getting in on the action.
Vampire: The Masquerade – Blood Hunt, developed by Sharkmob, is due to release in October. Get ready for wall-climbing, running slides, jumping off of roofs to unleash a blast underneath you, short distance teleports and a lot of guns.
“A treacherous betrayal has stirred a war amongst vampires, who are also targeted for annihilation by the secret society known as the Entity. Use your supernatural powers, weapons, and wit in this third-person battle royale game to dominate the night and restore the masquerade.”
The game will be free-to-play, with a closed alpha happening from July 2.
I really like the look of it, but I also get the impression that more emphasis is being put on the gunplay rather than clever power usage. Why so many guns?
