Mass Effect Legendary Edition
It’s been more than a decade since the release of the first Mass Effect game, which was a masterpiece in its time. However, anyone who’s attempted to replay it more recently will know that its gameplay didn’t age particularly well. The remastered version featured in the Legendary Edition improved on the first game’s ageing systems, bringing the game experience closer to that of ME 2 and 3. Those two games also received a few tweaks, but they didn’t need nearly as much work. Regardless, being able to play through the trilogy on one console, with a consistent face for Shepard… it was everything fans could have hoped for, making it a no brainer for this year’s award.
