Xbox is just a meme at this point

Like I said, now is not the time to leave any money on the table.
Both companies have to plan for now as well as the future. Then it’s give and take to strike a balance. MS have realsied that they are bleeding in the space and although they can easily afford it no company wants that. They have a new path and good luck to them.

Sony have their way that works for them. Lose some money on not selling on Xbox but keep subscribers on their platform for longer. We’ve already seen that converting anyone from one platform to another is extremely difficult. Not even CoD has the power to do that.

Lego likely insisted that as Nintendo Switch is the biggest audience of Lego games, they want the game to be released Switch.
That’s just a total guess. As likely as Sony just deciding to put a game on the biggest selling device on the market to make easy money. Sony have no reason to not put a game on Switch because Ponies are not going to jump ship to a Switch and the reverse is true as well.

This collaboration is just a win win win for Sony, Ninty and Lego.

As for Xbox not having Lego, everyone knows that typical Sony MO.
You said Sony had no say and were forced into it going to Switch by Lego but now Sony are preventing it on Xbox? Which is it? Sony has a say or no say?

Massive difference between saying Sony was forced as opposed Lego insisted. What I actually said was....

Its going to Switch because the Switch has always had the biggest player base of Lego games. Lego probably insisted this during the licensing, probably nothing to do with Sony.

Your argument is flawed as you want to conflate to different arguments into one. To simplify both parties would have conditions:

Lego
  1. Must be kid friendly
  2. Must be on Switch
Sony
  1. Would be based on our IP of Horizon
  2. Don't want it on Xbox
  3. Our own developer to create and Sony to publish.
If all parties agree, then is a go.

Maybe you are right, but you are also just guessing.

Lego could have said only “must be kid friendly” and nothing else.

Yeah, so much in the pipeline to look forward to. And when some go to PlayStation and are purchased full price, the sales will fuel more Game Pass day 1 games.

Again it seems Microsoft know exactly what they are doing here by allowing PlayStation to fund the Xbox studios.
Seems fair.

Sony will be really sad they took in 30% of that in pure profit. Didn’t have to fund the studio or the game, lost no subscriptions to Xbox, gave their users another game to play on their platform. MS funding Sony studios.

Life is good for everyone.

Bottom line is MS took a big swing acquiring Activision Blizzard King but the Xbox and Game Pass didn't pan out, so they've been forced to pivot.

Well, they lost all the profits on their own games that didn't sell during the same period as it seems ponies prefer xbot games. Not really a win then ;)

Not sure if that was intentional, but yeah, bottom line is what drives these companies unfortunately :(

On this 30%, its is absolute BS in my opinion, its a greedy cut to take.

Microsoft, Steam, Sony all take 30% and its wrong as it screws everyone except themselves. Apple and Google have 2 scales based on sales, first 15% and then 30%. Again this is just greed as why can't it just remain 15%, annoys me.

Epic are they only ones that don't take 30%, they take 12% which I think is reasonable.

Money is money. So a win is a win.

Hefty sure, but they have the option to not put games on platforms.

If MS truly want to go this route they should have more bargaining power than anyone, maybe they can negotiate better terms.

Not just about MS or Sony.

This 30% screws devs and gamers alike. Devs lose money on each sale, gamers have less money to spend.
