i just came out of a meeting where i am going to get a bump, BUT must sign 3 years fixed employment. Director says i wear my heart on my sleeve and could see i was vacillating on staying or going. (going being taking the plunge on doing my own thing, but they don't know that)

I have the weekend to decide

When are you planning on making the move?

Three years isn’t that long, and the bump could help you sort out your own thing even better.

See it inversely as well, it’s job security for three years as they are unlikely to fire you.

that's the thing. i am doing my job on auto pilot..it is for me a completely rote function now, regardless of site differences or dynamics.

it's as if i need the risk and being accountable only to myself to get the oomphh back.....if you know what i mean. but...not just myself that relies on my paycheck.

it's so bad i haven't even played Gears in months

thanks for the perspective. it will aid my mulling.

I'm 13 years in same company, I'm looking forward to a change when arriving in UK.
