If Pakistan play better we will have longer matches. It's that simple.
Agreed. Pakistan are not up to scratch put here. Much better at the one day game as well.

Seems the pitch has flattened out quite a bit, wonder how much the heavy roller helped. It still does something when the ball hits a crack but that hasn't hasn't happened much.

We will win this, but Pakistan haven't collapsed and are putting up a fight.

That was some great cricket to watch! 42 runs to win tomorrow.
We could have bowled better but the Pakis batted much better.

Olivier must learn that if someone gets on top of his bouncer that he needs to try something else. Some of his short deliveries were heading to the boundary too often.

It was good to see crazy eyes back! Towards the end he was bowling like the Steyn of old. Great to see!

Crazy eyes...... The man is so committed to his game, he is a pleasure to watch.

I guess Olivier is short of experience at this level. Needs some guidance from the captain as well.

Well how's this for a first day of a test?

First two sessions we bat at 4s for 3 wickets and the last session has seen 9 wickets so far? Love the Bullring.

Also love the way Vern gets his wickets and his reaction.

    Hey Mario

No place quite like the Bullring......

So our top order did quite well today, but the middle and end batters fell over a bit. I felt they were a bit un-focussed and threw some wickets away.

But Pak are not looking too good at the moment.

Some good cricket to watch today. Tense at times but enjoyed SA's fight back. Good to see Amla and de Kock see out the day.
If we do put another 50 runs on the board tomorrow the only thing then will be if Steyn will be able to bowl.

Yep, good day from a cricket method point of view.

But 5 dropped catches? Wowser.... That is NOT like us.

Good to see Hashim digging in.

Steyn says he is fine, after he came back on he was bowling 140+ so I'm sure they wouldn't risk it.

The dropped catches were bad, but I'll just put that down to a couple of really bad hours. That's really out of the norm for us.

This game could easily be over tomorrow.
