It's dirt cheap to buy and replacing it looks easy but I'm not 100% sure which version to get. Will have to eyeball some designs.

Anyone here done one of these? Any tips?
Best thing to do is open up the control and check the circuit board code.

The code I am referring to is the Model version. It is usually in small white writing with a JDM-xxx number (or something very similar). If you know which one you have you can cross reference the board code to the conductive layer.

They are matching pairs cuz the Conductive film and the Board are tied into the core Chassis type, which is in turn connected to the DS4 version type.

Thanks. I opened it up to give it a clean but like a moron I didn't check the board code. But it takes a minute to open up again so I'll just do that and order a replacement. Stupid shipping will cost more than the board!

Got a new one done this weekend. Quite a nice mix of colours. Had a set of Aluminium caste buttons and dpad so used them in this build.

I like it. Just feel the touchpad needs something done to it and this will be your best one to date.

Needed some Military Theme merch in my life. So I build the PS4 SPEC OPS control

This turned out really good. Very manly and bad ass. New dark see threw buttons all over adds an awesome touch to the camo paint job.

Normal size, just the photo that's giving that impression.

Looks quite nice. Where do you get your parts from? XMODS?

Also have you tried tinkering with the idea of putting those Xbox elite thumbsticks on the ds4? Thinking of doing it for one of mine.

I order my parts from AliExpress. The local XMODs are quite pricey. Although I know why seeing as they have a decent monopoly on the modding parts and they need to hold onto stock as a overhead.

The parts from AliExpress take ages (2-3 months) to get here but they do actually arrive so not a huge problem. The stuff is cheaper and I get a larger variety's Vs XMODS.

As for the alternative analogue sticks I know it can be done, just don't have a reason to as I use thumb grips on all my personal controls.
