Have they not updated it so the storage stacks now?
I have 2x4TB + 1TB internal for total of 9TB availible on XBOX, so I'm sure the PS4 does the same thing now or still just one drive it can read?

The post was a while back, I can't remember quite what the scenario was I drew from for that answer, but I did have to use multiple drives at one point in order to migrate my library to a 6TB HDD.

As long as the drives are formatted to your PS4, you can swap between them. The games displayed on your PS4 always stays the same, you just have to be sure to have the right drive connected when you try access them.

Yip, but you do have to use your internal storage as a go between, you can't copy from the one drive to the other directly.

Also want to upgrade my 500gb hard drive after 2 years. Was thinking of getting this one, then using the 500gb of the PS4 in a casing as an external hard drive. Only problem is I'd have to get ANOTHER external hard drive (at least 1 TB) to backup all the games onto first, then reinstall them afterwards.

PLUG HDD in, Move some of the games to the new drive: profit.
Really not hard, just add hdd's as you need them and move stuff between them as you like. I keep frequent games on the internal and less frequent (or no benefit to faster times) on the externals on the One X.

My advice... don't even bother if it is only to double the capacity. Buy 2TB at least... otherwise just add an external.

Just a pity you can't use one external device for both PS4 and PC as a backup...

I think I have like 9 externals in the house... the smaller ones (1tb) is not even used due to being 2 small for what I need. I am now looking to replace all my 2TB's with 4TB's and phase the 2TBs out. If you where closer you could grab a few 1TB's :P
