Default DualShock 4 [Version 1] Sticky Left Analog

Hey guys, I picked up something a bit strange with my DS4 controller while I was playing yesterday.

I was playing Valentino Rossi: the Game, and I noticed that whenever I tried to make small adjustments to my bike's trajectory (racing line) whenever I tried going left, my bike started veering off towards the left, way more than I intended to.

I then switched to F1 2016, and I had the same problem. Any sort of adjustment to the left which result in me veering way too much to the left.

The issue is that the left analog isn't sticking outright to the left, but it's definitely starting to get sticky.

What would be the ideal solution for this issue? I was thinking about disassembling the controller and cleaning it out, but is there perhaps another solution which would be easier?

Stick a little paper in between the analog stick and the plastic shell of the ds4 and just go around it. Will see if I can find the video. . .

Can't seem to find it but I remember the guy saying to use canned air into and around the stick, if no canned air just go around it with a piece of paper.

Thanks Anthony, I will give it a try and hopefully it'll work.

Dip the paper in rubbing alcohol first (isopropyl alcohol - costs next to nothing, sold at Dischem also). There's nothing better you can use to clean your controller, especially in the nooks and crannies where dust creeps in and starts to settle
