So I took it to Console Doctor. Was the PSU as expected. Replaced and all is well again. Can def recommend him to any Capetonians with console issues. Really nice guy, sorts the issues out quickly (overnight for me) and what I thought were really reasonable prices.

Same thing happened with mines (didn't hear a boom though as i had the fan on full blast and it was quite windy outside.
Ps4 seems completely dead. I bought it in June 2016 from Makro and warranty with Part Serve is over (in the box was a 1 year warranty with PS).

Is there anyone in Gauteng that offers Ps4 repairs?

This may be covered by your insurance under surge and/or accident.

Often they throw in a R5000 courtesy for such events.

Otherwise I’m sure someone will recommend a repairer.

Alternatively Partserve does offer a swop out but it’s like R2000.
