    Exclamation AMD Ryzen 2

So for those that does not know AMD's Ryzen 2 lineup launches next week. However the embargo date lifts the same day so... 19 April is the magical date.

This pisses me off because I want to grab one of those CPUs for myself but with no benchmarks to back things up and saying there is issues with the X370 or B350 platform with new CPUs I don't know which way to go.

Will keep everyone posted on this.

What issues are there with the older motherboards? The BIOS will have to be flashed for the new CPUs to work on them.

Other than that, the Ryzen refresh looks to bring better clock speeds and memory speeds. So performance should be slightly improved all round. Nothing else to do but wait for benchmarks.

It means you need to have a cpu in the board to update it first.

1080ti. Have to wait and see when the 2080 gets released and also take into account that if the rumours are true the 2080 might perform on par with the 1080ti but due to the volta cores it will feature hardware accelerated ray tracing and cost around $1500.

Also I am a bit more interested in the 2700 over the 2700X mainly because the 2700 is a 65W cpu vs a 105W cpu.

That's not unusual. Someone asked Wootware or Rebeltech if they would be able to flash a board for them and they agreed. I think they'd try and make a plan if you asked.

So far the Ryzen 7 2700X and Ryzen 5 2600X are all the reviews I am getting. Trying to find the plain 2700. Does not beat the i7 8700k most of the time. But dominates on every other front.

No. Looking at the specs you posted I take your not the type to buy the highest end product available on the market at the time. I believe the 1600 vs 2600 is an up to 10% increase?

Just one of the random youtube videos. Think the reviews have similar results.
