Default Help needed! Struggling with 3g mobile router connection

    Hi guys

I am in desperate need of some help. I am currently using a Vodacom 3G Mobile router on my Ps4 and the only way that I am able to connect to the router from the Ps4 is via the use of the WPS button. Whenever I try to connect the normal way(using the password) I get the message "Failed to connect within the time limit". I have tried to manually input the settings and have also had no luck. The problem I get with the use of the WPS button is that I constanly lose my connection to my IP address and whenever I "Test Internet Connection", I get as far as:

    Obtain IP Address Failed

I know that this is not the ideal form of internet for gaming and I do know that I should use a LAN cable. However, I am studying away from home and I stay in a digs and the landlord does not want to install a LAN to my room.

Any help is greatly appreciated and any step by step tutorial would be amazing. Thanks so much

    Gazz

You can share the connection from your PC to the PS4. Used to game online with 3G on my PS3.

Will find the thread and share.

don't need a cross over cable a normal lan cable will work. Forgot to mention that.

Give the first post a read, Basically you connect your PC or laptop to the 3G and share the internet connection to your ps4 via the lan port on your PC/Laptop.

    Yes Coldcat,

For now, it seems that way. The link shared didn't work properly for the router I have, but I found another by using that link as a start. Haven't had enough time to test it thoroughly, but it seems to be working. Will try to share the link I used if I can find it again.

    Thanks a lot

Yeah you likely connecting to your router via wifi, still can work with sharing the internet. anyways glad you have come right.
