    From what I remember when I did my will if you die without one then it's based on nearest blood relationship and varies depending on if you have a spouse, children and whether your parents are still alive.

    What I highly suggest is, get this done ASAP.

    If you can't afford a lawyer to do it properly wait till National Wills Day this year and do it then... It's free.

    But if you own any property, have assets, get it done now please, especially if you have kids.

    Don't make mistake of doing it yourself or whatever - people have a way of coming out of no where, finding faults and then you in trouble or the people you leave behind must struggle to get the stuff.

    And how do you think a trust will sort that out? You need the will to get stuff into the trust. Either way the wrapping up of your estate issue still applies.

    It's better to have life insurance in place that pays the spouse directly in the case of death. Some have a special 24H or 48H immediate payment sub section to keep things floating while other stuff is sorted out.
