Question Buy RDR2 on xbox or ps4?

    HI guys

my only problem with this game right now is choosing which console to buy it for ...

    i have a ps4 and a xbox one s running on a 4k HDR tv ..
-XB1s runs at 2160p ( screen displays the res when i select the input)
-ps4 runs at 1080p ( screen displays the res when i select the input)

i am leaning towards the xb1s because it has HDR10 support.

    what do you guys recommend?

Confusing the X with the S?

The S should run lower than 1080p

PS4 also has HDR support bud, it's not only limited to the Pro, check your settings.
On the Res front, i think that Res you see on the Screen will not matter as the game will be limited to 1080p anyway unless you have the X.

I doubt the PS4 version has 17GB more content. Probably differing texture file sizes or just Microsoft making an estimation?

If you willing to wait and not do a day one purchase then Digital Foundry might do a cross comparison on all consoles to help with a choice.

the xbox one s streams at 4k
the tv might be upscaling the games

but the point it that the tv picks up what res is being input...
i have the xbox one s plugged into the 4K input slot and the ps4 plugged into the other 4k input slot.

the tv shows the res on the screen (info) while selected and only shows 1080p for ps4 and 2160p for the xbx1s
if the tv is infact upscaling then then the game should look better on the xb1s

i am so confused now lol

If you plan on playing MP with friends, then check with them on which console they are buying.

I went with PS4 since most online friends are on PS4 for me.

Anthem that gets released next year is straight up Xbox for me.

Power of the cloud minimising the files you need. Probably smart enough to just pull one language pack etc instead of all on PS4.
