    Question AMD Zen2 - Ryzen 3000 series

CES is around the corner and so to should be AMDs reveal of their 7nm CPUs.

The biggest question is in my mind "Did AMD breach the 4Ghz mark at stock?". Rumours are flying around with listings where the mainstream flagship, the Ryzen 7 3700X will be clocked at 4.2Ghz with 12 cores 24 threads with a TDP of 105W and have a max boost clock of 5Ghz. I'm hesitant to believe in rumours. The thing is AMD has not shot this down. Maybe they plan on doing it during this weeks CES or they plan on confirming it.

TDP and frequencies aside, the rumours are that Ryzen 3 will have 6 cores, Ryzen 5 will be the 8 core model, Ryzen 7 will have 12 cores and finally just like intel and having a new top end cpu there will be a Ryzen 9 with 16 cores.

Frankly I just want to see what AMD has to offer and how will it compare to what intel currently has.

Also keen to see this one. But these rumors sound way too good to be true.

Yeah I don't put much stock in them. However if they are compatible with AM4 boards and they have a 4ghz 8core cpu I will probably get one. Infact I am prepared to buy a CPU. Just waiting on the details from AMD themselves.

So... nothing from CES. All we know they have a competitor for the i9 9900k. But nothing more.

Yes in multithreading. Not surprising. If it was single core speed we could be more excited.

It was 8 cores and 16 threads vs 8 cores and 16 threads. The big issue is we have no more data. For all we know the cpu is running with higher clock speeds to get the same results as intels cpu. But the power consumption being lower is already good.
