I would say they've always been in the game even without oled tv's. A lot of folks are wary(justifiable or not) of OLED and the potential pitfalls or they like the extra brightness you get with qled

It looks very promising, especially with the new black filter and wider viewing angle. Good that it's only the Q6 that's not FALD this year. Looking forward to actual reviews.

Would just pay a little more and get an LG W9 if they ever decide to get rid of the sound bar and replace it with a control box I can hide away

And these 8k qled TV’s launching soon, we don’t even have proper 4K content, the tech not really keeping pace with “each other”

Both 4K and 8K are outlined in the Ultra HD spec, it's just manufacturers fulfilling the spec now that HDMI 2.1 has landed. Same as how we had 1080p even though no 1080p content was available at the time.

You'll always have people willing to jump onto the latest thing even if it doesn't make sense to do so, so why not? Sales of the 8K sets have been below expectations though, so I'd imagine you'll see the hype surrounding these sets die down a bit.
