    @AdrianH friends with benefits?
    @JoeMoer, we're aiming to leave on the 12th of September to the 28th of Sept.

    Flights are crazy expensive - but we did suspect it as we're going to toronto then vancouver.

    Hoping we fall in love and don't get too shocked, heard a crazy story about drug dealers peddling in the streets in vancouver in broad daylight and I'm hoping to never see that.

    Unfortunately not man, it is quite a strict process only for employee and spouse/partner. You have to go in person to fetch currency and prove you are leaving to destination in order to be given the currency.

    Our new dates of departure seem to be probably be during November now.

    Hopefully your wife doesn't work at STD bank.

    They are by far the most expensive, FNB wasn't much more than travelex.

    but travelex is still the best I've seen, will buy closer to date but shopping around.

    Currently Travelex is selling CAD @ R10.965

    I'm looking for slightly better.

    We used and still use Currency Assist. Speak to Paul, mention my name if you like.

    We've never paid more than mid-day + 1%

    They setup an account with Mercantile Bank which is in your name, it's an interest bearing account at Money Market rates (about 6,5%pa) so you move money into that and it generates good interest. Then when you are ready to move your money overseas they do it directly from that account.
