See GooberTown did some oil paint in the latter half of the video, saying it's good for blending, with the caveat being long drying times.
Also this seems like a fun challenge for more active painters to practice their skills.

What size minis do you guys make? My first was 75mm, but I realise now that, that is big.
Is 28mm standard for DnD?
Seems a bit silly small.

Sizing generally depends on the creature/being you're make. Standard size of an adult male human is between 25-28mm for DnD.
Some creature are naturally smaller or larger.
They align somewhat with the bases that dictate their size on the game board. I think standard sizing is an inch by inch square.
None of that matters if you're just painting for fun though.
I have some goblins that are unfinished that are really small it feels. Makes things difficult.
Edit:
Nice article on it:

Yeah 28mm is the normal Human size. I have done some Orc models at around 35mm which is rather large if you want to scale it correctly but that is just how AG ships the files and I dont like tinkering to downscale much as it sometimes can cause failed prints.
I have been slacking on printing DnD stuff for sometime, but recently printed a new dice tower for my 5y old and now the laaitie also wants one. So a new 30 hour printing session is in order.
Took nearly forever thanks to our horrendous postal service, but these finally showed up.
Been delaying painting for long waiting for the palette. Awesome little booklet as well.![]()
