Default Google/Android Blacklisting Huawei after US Bill

    https://www.reuters.com/article/us-h...-idUSKCN1SP0NB

Wonder what this will mean for other markets and Huawei as a whole.
My SO is pretty pissed, she was planning on an upgrade, but this is leading to doubt.

Do you think it'll affect South Africa though, in terms of product? I'm guessing it's only the US that's blacklisting them?

Going to hurt a company that's already taken a pounding. They're share price has been on a massive spiral since 2015 when it peaked around $17.5 and now trades at a little over $3.50

Have a feeling Apple had something to do with this after loosing a lot of its market share to Huawei. Trump is also involved claiming Huawei is using it's technology to spy on American networks .

Yup, but I believe it'll affect everyone besides China, since it is a company and not a country ban.

Trump is having issues with China, hence all the brouhaha.

    Edit: meant to quote you

And not read thread titles properly

But yeah, I think I need to do a little more reading on this. I've read about the Canadian arrested recently in China who was involved in this Huawei dispute, but little else.

It's been well established that Huawei has been using their equipment for spying. They've been banned from several countries already. Trump's trade war with China was probably just the kicker.

    Sources? Just for posterity.

This whole thing is one of the reasons people are kicking back at Epic too. The whole major China investor.
