I'm so happy for AMD. They were poo for so long. So so so long. Basically from 3800 back in the day to Ryzen 1. When Intel launched the very first Core 2 duo (of which I got the E3400 which was a phenomenal OCing chip) AMD essentially got stomped for the next decade.

Still, no reason for me to upgrade as this 2600x is a fantastic chip and doesn't struggle with anything. What AMD have basically done is kill the i5. Intel need a new 2500k and new 2600k. 2500k is in my opinion the best bang for buck gaming cpu ever made. If they make another, it will be fantastic.

Thought you were saying much more performance for virtually no extra cash. Then watched the video and re-read your comment! Definitely not worth the extra cash.

Admittedly I also want to undervolt my CPU. If I can get 4.3ghz on all cores at 1.25V I will take that. Currently my core voltage is anywhere from 1.35V up to 1.475V making the cooler louder than it could be.

I managed to get a CPU temperature reading. The 3700X loves high voltage. As mentioned mine goes for 1.35V all the way up to 1.475V. This means my desktop or idle temps are between 30C and 40C constantly in flux. And sitting on the windows desktop it loves to boost for some odd reason. When in gaming my temps goes up to 60C using the Prism and it does not run as loud (that or the sound drowns out the fan noise). It's still a far cry from the 2700 with the Spire cooler hitting 40-50C in games. I think I will just leave things at stock and see what happens in summer months although from what I gather Ryzen manages itself rather well.

Here is more on the AMD vs Intel thing with the 3700X compared against the 9700K.

In all honesty I was waiting on this one but when the reviews on the 3700X came around I instantly dropped the though of even buying this purely because everyone was saying the 3700X was boosting to 4.1 or 4.2ghz consistantly.

Love how the guy in the video straight up calls it. Need more reviews like this on the internet.
