Can blower fans just die already. I'm keen to see reviews for some 5700 XT's with third party cooling.

Some cases are designed for blower style cooling in mind. Need to redesign those.

Admittedly I was actually looking at this review after I made up my mind but I did it because of this video:

I was screaming bull**** nearly half the time because just as much log rolling in that video as anywhere else. To use Wootware as a price point:

    Palit 2070 super - R8700 (should be R8000 as a 2070 replacement)
    XFX Radeon 5700XT - R7200
Palit geforce 2060 super - R7000 (should be around R6500)
    XFX Radeon 5700 - R6300

The 2070 super is about 5% slower than a 1080ti/2080 and the 5700XT is about 5% slower than a 2070S.
The 2060S is around the 1080/2070 performance level and the 5700 is about 5% slower than the 2060S.
From what I can see it seems that AMD has their power levels under control. Thermals are hotter due to blower style coolers. We will probably see twin or tri fan coolers in the near future.

Explain to me local prices on these babies vs. the 2060 Super. Are they likely to go up/down/stay the same? I've been out of the pc cycle for so long. Everything has gotten expensive it seems.

AMD says that temperatures of up to 110°C with its RX 5700-series graphics cards are “expected and within spec” for typical gaming usage. The company’s latest GPUs, utilising the RDNA architecture, are known to crank out some heat, but according to AMD’s latest community update that’s within the safe operating range of the graphics card and nothing to worry about.
    Seems smoking hot to me.
