    Default Disappearing Data

    Hi Peeps,

I'm currently on MTN but I get my data every month through Afrihost.

For the last two Monday's when I leave home for work switch to mobile data, all of it gets used (1.5gb last Monday and 1gb today).

I've checked WASPA and I'm not registered for any sub services.

Any ideas what may be causing it?

It's new development and has never happened with my phone before.

Would factory resetting the phone possibly remove whatever is causing it?

    Thanks.

With Vodacom I was assigned to a service that was not on WASPA. And was deducting airtime daily but not data. WAs a total nightmare to get to the bottom of it with them...

Have you checked if you don't have apps updating or uploading? Like Whatsapp? If your whatsapp is backing up on your mobile data that's the reason, mine was updating 1.5gb file at a time when I had it on.

Also check what new apps you have put on and remove them to see.

    What phone?

Best would be to reset statistics of data use when topping up the data bundle to see exactly where it goes.

Thanks bud, never had an issue with Whatsapp and it's only set to update or backup over Wifi.....could be a new app, I've removed a few of them now.

Think there is a statistics page in the settings app that shows app data usage. Cant remember how to get there or if IOS update changed to not show.

    Its here apparently

Okay so as above go check in the actual Statistics to see where it went.

Mobile Data / Cellular > All the way down.

Even better when you refill your data bundle hit Reset Statistics at the bottom first.

Now outside of this to be super safe you want to TURN OFF the following toggles on the same screen.

    Wi-Fi Assist
    iCloud Drive

Then outside of that if you use Apple Music or Podcasts do the following....

Settings > Music > Mobile Data > Downloads Off and Streaming Off unless you want to use streaming that is.

Settings > Podcasts > Only Download on Wi-Fi ON. (can even put Mobile Data off here at the top if you like, but then your playback doesn't sync etc)

If you use iMessage a lot you can also enable Low-Quality Image Mode in it's own settings.
