Once it stops bouncing around and the kinetic energy dissipates then it'll turn into more of a fluid, however it'll only leak if, as you say, the encasement is cracked.

Considering the types of plastics used in controllers, i'd bet on a crack.

Not sure this whole thing is going to work, in order to create pressure to change the viscosity they are going to "retract" the sticks. Not sure how gamers will like their sticks moving just as a critical moment happens.

I'm always up for something new so i'll give it a bash if it happens.

The way I interpret it is it's a modification of the L3 and R3 functionality, rather than the sticks giving way. We'll see, like you say, always up for something new.

LTT did a repair video on old analog controllers. If you wondered by PSX/PS2 controllers dont have drifting its because of the analog buttons used back then used optic sensors to track where the spots are rather than the plastics that gets worn out today. Dunno the cost difference.
