Oddly enough, Media Markt in Sweden also sold out on their One X consoles on Series launch day.

I think it should be fine for the moment. The majority of sales will be by the gamers themselves. Once Christmas comes it will be a whole different story though when parents buy gifts for the kids.
If people did in fact buy the wrong console, then the saying a wise man once told me holds true:
