Just stick with 1440p and RT/DLSS and wait for a 3080 to be in stock.

What 1440p monitor are you using ? The step from 60hz to 144 (or even 165hz on that new Dell IPS) is so nice.
    1440p, 144hrtz Dell Gsync monitor.

Just having bought my LG CX TV I was hoping to step up to 4K.
From what I have seen you kinda need a 3080 to achieve at least 60fps at 4K thus the 3080 is the only real 4K card.

It just seems like a Xbox SX is the best option now for 4K gaming on TV even if you have to deal with sub 60fps which is a problem for me as I get sick with low frame rates.

Wootware has a EVGA RTX3080 for R21k available on their site right now for delivery in 2 weeks.

That is R1800, you can get the gold efficiency for R1900.

    3080 Zotac incoming for R21000....

But if you can wait would recommend getting the Palit 3080 for R18000 instead ...if wootware gets more of them.
Depending on the rest of the pc a 650w could also work.

While gaming, my pc draws 450w max. Ryzen 2600+3080.

They don't have any. I have checked with them. They expect there to be a shortage for the next 2 months.
They suggest I try a 3090 which is a bit out of my price range.

Honestly, do the hard thing and just wait for stock to arrive.

    Definitely yes. I can wait.
I worry that it was mentioned earlier in this thread that the 3080 gets very hot and also seems to draw a lot of power.
I need to consider options more carefully and do some research. The 3070 seems just a bit too underpowered for 4K, 60 fps.
I would prefer sticking with pc gaming for another year before getting a new console.

They had the EVGA FTW3 Ultra 3080 yesterday when I posted, but it sold out an hour or two later. As I said, you have to be quick or else just settle for a 3070.

Honestly Wootware's support staff have no friggin clue about stock. I placed an order for an ASUS Tuf 3080 for a good price.
They said it was an error on their site and canceled my order because they have no stock and don't expect any for quite some time.

The next day they put one up for sale at a higher price.

    Greedy bastards.

I am afraid that I also do not trust their site. They show items as available but if you try to order they say they don't have stock.
This is what keeps them behind Evetech. It is important to properly manage your web site or you will drive customer away.

Will give it a bit of time and see.

Never had that issue with Wootware. What I have noticed is that prices gets inflated after the initial release of an item though. Cannot speak for whats been going on since last year but all prices seems stupidly high.
