I don't think anyone has said this but RE8 is a linear game even if it has a hub area. You cannot go back to the castle once you killed lady Dimitrescu and the 3rd boss also won't let you return to some of his parts. Once you got the 4 puzzle pieces you cannot go back either.

And finished my run last night, most things explored and upgraded, took me just a smidge over 9h to complete according to the in-game completion screen.

I enjoyed it, although I would've liked more horror. Feels like they shifted the going back to basics horror of 7 towards what killed the later parts of the franchise for me, which was action.

Either way, enjoyed the post credit scene, and look forward to what it means for future entries.

I'm dying to play it even though it looks poep-the-broeks terrifying in places.

It's basically what I eluded to in my other thread. After you completed a horror game the scare factor is gone so they move to the action gameplay.

Also looking forward to the potential what it means after the post credit scene.

I've seen YT footage of that creepy doll mansion baby place that looks to be about the most yikes.

Is Resident Evil 7 Biohazard a decent game. It's on GP, been meaning to give it a go.

Played it a few years ago, and only the standard version back then (so no DLC), but I enjoyed it. At the time it was a fresh take for RE, with the first person view, and it went back to a more horror theme, compared to the horrible b-action movie of 5 and 6.

I personally wasn't a fan of, say the last quarter of it (basically the ending), but otherwise it was great.

I'd recommend it to horror fans, and I'd definitely recommend it since it's a freebie on GamePass.

I heard great things about the DLC from others if that's also included.

GP never offers free DLC, you always have to buy it separately.

I finished it this weekend and loved it. It's less focused than Resi 7 and there is more action. I like what they did with the story too.
