It probably won't. It went up in price.

Also thought about this. New i3-12100 is matching or beating the 5600X in games though and that's a R2,000 processor. Pair that with a B560 for ~R2,500 and you have a decent upgrade for not much money (if sticking with DDR4).

I noticed, might not be worth it to wait till the end of the year for the 5800X3D and AM5 cpu's. Tough spot.

Yeah, which is why a decrease in price in my mind is inevitable

Problem with the i3 is that it's a 4 core 8 thread chip.

Yea that's the thing. Then again, if you're just gaming, it's sufficient at the moment with the gains Alder Lake has brought. i5-12400 is probably the sweet spot.

Here would be my suggestion. This would probably be the best price for performance that you can get.

    i5 10400F - R2700 - https://www.wootware.co.za/intel-bx8...sktop-cpu.html

    16GB DDR4 - R1400 - https://www.wootware.co.za/g-skill-f...op-memory.html

Then the board is between a B560M for R1500 or a Z590 for R2500. I would maybe opt for the Z590 because of the amount of IO the board has extra.

Sadly no graphics card is worth it atm other than the 3070 for R17k.

So I know the question is why? The reason is all cards below the 3070 is over priced for their performance. The 3060ti which is the 1080ti equivalent is not R12k. The 3070 is at R17k is 35% faster than the 1080ti and the same as the 2080ti. Your paying for the extra performance to what amounts essentially to a R24k card ...or if you want an R19k card in the 2080ti when it was at its cheapest.
