Whelp, this was a steaming pile of BS. One of the two UniFi's I'm cursed with having in deployment decided to drop its provisioning... Figured it would be a good chance to try out that app you were talking about.

Ya, that only works on unconfigured APs... And there's no way to add an IP, just scan the QR code on the back... No way I'm gonna walk 500m each way to grab a ladder with a bruised rib.

Time to reinstall that crap controller software.

    GARBAGE!

Just out of interest what makes the controller software crap in your opinion?

LOL are these some super old units or something? I've only ever had on UniFi fail on me and that was pretty much out of the box.

Like @Soprono I don't get the hate for the controller software either. Back in the day I hated that it was on Windows only but these days it runs on anything.

I haven't used the iOS App though so didn't know about those limitations so that does suck.

The fact that the software is necessary. It makes sense for large deployments. Not one or two access points. Its extra open ports, and you can't even run the APs on a management VLAN.

Causing me nothing but grief. Now, (and I should have made a backup), I must have made a typo in the password last time I provisioned one of these, and they don't make you type the password in twice.

I have no choice but to do a factory reset now.
