I have been playing and enjoying Resident Evil 2 (Remake), RE Biohazard (7) and re Village (8). Resident Evil 4 (Remake) is also on the list, just wating for the new DLC to drop and hopefully get a sale.

So, how does The Evil Within 1 and 2 compare to these mentioned RE games?

I read that The Evil Within 1 is a little weird as the story makes no sense, and things just happen, progression is missing. The game is less stealth and more shooty shooty, with more bosses than the sequel.

The Evil Within 2 is more stealthy and less shooty shooty, making it more like RE U and 8.

Can anyone comment on this as I prefer the more stealthy and less shooty shooty games.
 
I really enjoyed The Evil Within 1 - one of my favourite early PS4 titles. To me it's a lot closer to RE that its sequel (the first is the creation of the man behind RE4 after all).

The Evil Within 2 is also good, but the open world design made for a less tense game and the backtracking gets a bit old.
