Prediction Time – Will Consoles Exist in 10 Years?

Hello and welcome everybody, it’s Prediction Time again. For those that have the memory of a goldfish, Prediction Time is a feature where I ask the SA Gamer crew what they think will happen on a certain topic. As you can see from the title, this month I asked them whether they think consoles will exist in 10 years time? Let’s take a look a the responses: Kyle:  I honestly don’t t...

Console ports to PC are back to being rubbish, starting with Dead Rising 3

PC gamers around the world rejoiced when they heard that the Xbox One exclusive, Dead Rising 3, was being ported to PC. It now seems that the port is not performing all that well. There’s been reports that resolution options are very limited, that there’s unplayable lag, mouse acceleration and terrible frame rate drops. Rumour has it that there are frame rate drops, even when thereR...

GULP! PC gamers can now mod weapons in Saints Row 4

As if Saints Row 4 was not wacky enough, PC gamers will now have the opportunity to create and mod their own weapons in the game.  Weapons from the standalone ‘Gat out of Hell’ expansion are included. Keep in mind that there’s already a Giant Purple Dildo and an Alien Anal Probe in the game and this spells disaster. It’s probably exactly what the developers are looking for....

Over 230 000 000 miles driven in The Crew Closed Beta?

I don’t know about you guys, but I generally I enjoy reading infographics. What does surprise me is that we’re now seeing these infographics for the Beta version of a game? Things are getting a bit out of hand if you ask me. Saying that, this infographic does show that people do enjoy Beta offerings. Have a look: Did you take part in the Beta? What did you think of it?

Why is cross-platform gaming still a problem in 2014? I’m tired of this crap

It’s something that’s bugged me for quite some time quite honestly. About three weeks ago I posted a news piece on why Destiny will not support cross-platform gaming. Then last week I was discussing a Call of Duty session online with a friend and, because we own different platforms, we were denied that privilege. So why the f#$k do we still have to live with this incompatibility in 201...

6.5 Million Guardians Were Created During the Destiny Beta

The Destiny Beta has been closed for a while now but we’re still itching to play the game (September can’t come soon enough), and by the looks of things many other people might agree. According to Bungie’s Destiny Beta Infographic a total of 4 638 937 gamers played the game during the time it was open – the most amount of players their studio has ever seen during a beta. Th...

Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris gets a Release Date

While we all wait for the sequel to last year’s amazing reboot of Tomb Raider, we get to enjoy another game starring our favourite heroine. Miss Croft returns later this year in Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris, the sequel to the top-down, co-op action game Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light. Square Enix has just announced that the game will be released on December 9 for the PC, Xbox On...

Download this mod to upgrade Watch_Dogs to the E3 2012 demo visuals

The E3 2012 reveal for Watch_Dogs left most of us staring at the screen in awe of how beautiful the game looked. Since then the game saw many visual downgrades, and the end result did not live up to its first reveal. A man by the name of ‘The Worse’ did not let the downgrade stop him from playing the version we all saw at the 2012 E3 reveal. Its aim was boost the PC version of the game...

Gods Will Be Watching… You… Soon?

You will very, VERY rarely see me post anything about PC games. Mostly due to the fact that I have a mere laptop that only just manages to run Minesweeper and Solitaire. So if I do post anything about a PC game it must be good right? Well one game that has caught my eye is Devolver Digital’s Gods Will Be Watching. The game is billed as a point & click thriller and the part that really go...

PC gamers, GTA V won’t be cheap

With the release of the current generation of consoles the costs of games have skyrocketed by quite some margin. Gone are the days that we paid R600 for a game (even then we complained). The one saving grace came in the form of PC Gaming. PC games at retail have always been much cheaper than console games because of licensing and various other costs. Well, looks like that’s something of the ...
