Many will argue that Rise of the Ronin deserves a little more recognition. The open world action title released for PS5 what feels like an age ago, all the way back in March of this year. And while it was met with rather lukewarm reviews, it still managed to amass a faithful fan following. It's a shame, then, that the game still suffers...

Was speaking to somebody off the forum yesterday. They were expressing that devs need to learn to optimise their games instead of using the PS5 Pro to make the game run "properly".

The article mentions the same...

We're all for PS5 games getting glow-ups on PS5 Pro, but we do think the water gets a little muddy when technically challenged titles are 'fixed' via a $700 console. It's a similar story with the likes of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth and Dragon's Dogma 2 — both of which are promising performance enhancements on the Pro, having previously suffered from various technical issues on the standard console.

It's mostly these Japanese devs that just dont care about optimization.

Even the PC ports are atrocious sometimes, Dragons Dogma 2 didn't even hold 60fps in the city on any PC until Frame Generation was added along with some patches.

And even now in today's Digital Foundry video, the PS5 Pro is still sub 60 in the city (not even the most intensive area of it). But hey, atleast VRR can carry the 800 Euro console and on many TVs bring along some of that infamous OLED VRR flicker too...

I'm holding back on my PS5 Pro purchase till the 2nd half of next year when GTA6, Death Stranding 2 and Ghost of Yotei come out.
I'm not paying a fortune right now just to bruteforce poorly optimized games, that's what my PC is there for

Some devs just prioritise visuals over performance, and not talking resolution just creating a beautiful scene with detailed characters etc.

It's mostly these Japanese devs that just dont care about optimization.

Does appear that way, but if the Pro just helps it along with zero extra effort then cool i guess.
