2nd Monitor losing signal

So as the title suggests, every now and again when I turn my PC on the 2nd monitor won't display anything, if I move my mouse towards it then the mouse disappears and sometimes apps will open on it even though it's not displaying anything. I then need to unplug the DP cable for my main monitor to work. The input source is set correctly and it will sometimes work after a driver udate but then randomly goes off again. It's off currently and there is no AMD update so I am a bit stuck.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

My GPU is a AMD Radeon 6800XT

Are you running anything into a dock? I have similar problems with a second monitor with my work Lenovo dock. I find switching from DP to HDMI "fixes" the issue, but its a pain to do now and again.

Nope it's coming straight out the gpu and into the monitor. Which is a Asus VG248QE 144hz. So it might work if I use HDMI but then the monitor is capped at 60hz

Sounds like a dodgy display cable to me, or cable not plugged in securely. Do you have another cable you can try?
