Baldur's Gate 3 - Larian Studios
I think it's the exception rather than the rule in the case.
Certainly. Since this is the only time it’s happened I think. But I do expect the shortcomings of the S to become a bigger issue as the gen rolls forward.

Not that it means features should be missing but I can see this sort of thing happening a bit more.

It's inevitable now that we're finally moving out of the cross-gen period, with the PS5 and Series X likely serving as baseline going forward.

Anyone else experienced the AI just not AI-ing?

I'll have turns where literally no moves are made, no attacks, etc. It just thinks for 10s and then goes to the next enemy. It's easy to win the fight, but it's boring without the challenge and also having to run to each enemy if they're spread out is a pain.

I had one battle with about 20 enemies (the goblin camp) and it took forever. I'd do my turn, go boil the kettle, come back, do my turn, go make coffee...probably took 40 minutes in all.

And then I had enemy of justice, but my next activity was the party, so I couldn't even long rest or try get rid of it so I had to fight all of the druids. Not the way I wanted this playthrough to go.

I have never played a co-op game split screen in my whole life so this does not bother me at all.

Not to start up the wors again, but it's kind of a flip flop from Spinner.

There's already been instances of games on Series S where features/modes have been missing like ray-tracing and performance modes, so its not the first time there has been differences. I can't recall any game-play features that were missing on Series S though, this could be a first from that aspects.

I think the reason for not allowing missing features as a rule is

1) To keep customers happy that they don't feel they bought an Series S and now only get half a game.
2) To stop studios from releasing sub-par Series S version, be it missing features, poor performance, etc

Still, its great to see Phil bending his rules to benefit the studios and gamers (and MS store commission). Sucks if you have a Series S and want to play split-screen...sorry for you :)

The parity mandate that MS has (had?) is not performance based but strictly for gameplay features. I do think this might be the first time an actual feature like that will be missing.

Think they always knew it wouldn’t be keeping up with the X performance wise so res, RT etc has been wildly different.

I don’t think split screen co-op is a big deal but they do have to make sure they advertise it as missing on the S.

It happens sometimes but I’ve not had such a long delay in battles. The first patch is out now, perhaps it will fix those issues.

Have had delays but nothing that long.

The release date for Xbox will be announced at the Game Awards on 7 December 2023 and it has a definite December release.

The game is not on the Xbox Store for pre-order.

What are the chances that it shadow drops into Game Pass on 7 December 2023? I hope so.

I have no idea what to play next. It’s going to be very hard to fill the void.
I'm doing my 3rd character at the moment. However, my current run has been multiplayer only, with someone who has never played the game. It's actually interesting, they make some very different decision to what I did, so I'm seeing a fair amount of new things just based on their choices. Definitely something to consider if you have friends who own the game.

I’m not sure what run I’m on right now. It’s been a few. Have a co-op partner but we play sporadically. So, I’m trying to finish it with all classes.
