Installed and played about an hour of MP. 'Like Mud' is the shortest description from me.

MS pulled a fast one on Sony. They should have given them the better version of this game. Why they even did this is .?????

Ultimate Edition is the BEST version of this game. What they have given PS fans to onboard them is an insult.

Sorry B. Was stuck in Helldivers when I saw your invites. I had already uninstalled by then. My next Gears outing will be E Day.

Isn't it the ultimate edition, with graphical updates? That's what the DF video would suggest.

Comparing what I played think UE looks better. Runs better. Feels better. Bigger MP squads and options. Latency and frame rate info available.

Didn't even start the campaign. Straight to MP. Painful.

The amount of smack talk in a random lobby where everybody was under rank 10 was on point though :ROFLMAO:
 
What a time to be alive. I hope 2 and 3 comes to modern hardware as well. I've been playing 2's campaign off the Canary Xbox emulator.

Also Horde is my Jam!

They sold the rights to Microslop unfortunately.
Which I'm pretty sure helped fund Fortnite, which makes the whole situation so much worse.
I used to be a huge fan of Epic Games, but after I got to deal with them personally in my career, I've honestly lost all respect for them.

On a random side note, if you love Gears, I recommend reading "Control Freak" by Cliffy B.
The fact that his Ex Wife was the inspiration for the Berserkers, is something that lives in my head rent free now.

Xbox has confirmed that a multiplayer beta is coming, starting on August 6 to August 8th. While the "open beta" will eventually be available to everyone, those who preorder Gears of War: E-Day can get in early and play during the first beta weekend.

I have fond memories of Gears 3 beta weekend. Jassis. We played the hell out of that. Hope the MP netcode / server whatever is similar. You searched quick join and lobbies were nearly always just South Afrcans. Gamertags you recognised. Best lobbies. People chatting, smack talking, laughing, raging. Such a great time.

Yeah it's great to hear it will release this year.

But at the same time, I'm a little skeptical because of this:
How The Coalition and NVIDIA are Building Gears of War: E-Day for PC

I get this is a non-issue for Xbox players.
But for PC, this should be a red flag.

Nvidia is no doubt doing to want to push DLSS and Ray Tracing hard on PC.
So I'm quite concerned we're going to see a Lego Batman situation where you need those AI generated Fake Frames, just to get up to "60 FPS".

I also have no doubt the Coalition know what they are doing with the Unreal Engine, but Unreal has also gain a reputation for being an unoptimized POS, so I really wonder how well it will run ...

I think the new Halo CE release might give us a sneak peak in how we we can expect this game to perform.
 
Would have thought they would have got AMD all over it, for the marketing opportunity, considering what powers my potato.
