Deserves its own thread. It wasn't on my radar but gave it a chance due to it being on Gamepass. It's not quite FromSoft level, but pretty close. Aesthetic is Bloodborne with a mix of Sekiro combat. Give it a shot if you enjoyed those two

So how much of the usual From bull**** will annoy the kak out of me?

Do I start over every time I die and lose all my experience unless I manage to get to my body?

Yeah its pretty much trying to mimic From as far as possible, even some of the animations look like they were lifted straight from Bloodborne. But yeah if you don't like the Fromsoft loop, you probably wont like this

I must say I tried the first bit and I didn’t hate it, maybe for actually having a proper tutorial.

What I do find unnecessarily complicated is that I have no idea how to save. There is no menu to quit etc so I’m not sure if I’ll be returning to where I was.

The game itself also seems pretty complex in controls and mechanics which may just get in the way but I’m keen to push on.

I am looking forward to getting stuck into this. Seeing the lack of i frames being complained about on twitter has me keen. Makes the game more challenging, You actually have to dodge apparently, no rolling on through.
Love this game type. Has me stoked for LOF next month!!

I don't have the patience for this genre but do appreciate the skill required to beat each game. My bro on the other hand is a huge fan and has been enjoying this game. Apparently the Fallen Archbishop Andreus boss gave him a good challenge. Figured you chaps would relate.

This is the first souls like that I'm invested in. Level 60 now and I'm enjoying the **** out of it. Once the combat "clicked" for me it became really fun. Game is extremely challenging tho! Cool characters and setting. Would be cool if this studio made every new game based on a fairy tale (Alice in wonderland, Wizard of oz etc)

I've reinstalled* it based on the posts here :p

Now to see if I can find the time to actually play :ROFLMAO:

* thanks to it being on GamePass

Yeah same, haven't been so addicted to a game since ER.

Also took me a while to "click", especially as the parry mechanic is differently implemented.

Yeah he took me a good couple of hours to beat on Sunday. I always tend to struggle with the larger bosses in these type of games though

After 1 hour just trying to get past the Hammer Clown to the hotel, I don't have the patience or reflexes for this anymore

edit: why does this feel harder than Dark Souls??

Oh that's my favorite, when there is no save, it's straight all over again, sometimes you want to stop playing already.
I usually just interrupt and come back to the game later. How about you?

Not sure if bot.

I haven’t gone back to the game but Quick Resume is fortunately there.

I did figure out the save mechanism later on though.

Finished it earlier this week (in time before GP sub was up) and giving it a 9/10. Might end up as my GOTY, pending spidey and AW2.

Thanks MS and gamepass. Starfield was so damn boring it forced me to try this one out and boy am I thankful.

I am finding most open world games to be boring and a grind lately. Bring on more linear games LOL
