More layoffs at Xbox.

Lol. Yeah yet another OG at xbox. I do feel that this is a combination of MS putting pressure on the on the xb division to be profitable after the activision acquisition and a result of them having to pivot strategy to achieve this. When will the industry realise that console gaming is about the experience over the polygons.
 
On acquisition you’d expect some, probably buying a bloated business, much like Sony did with Bungie, but this now totals 2,500. That’s a lot of people.
 
Activision/Blizzard had 13000 of employees, which 2500 of layoffs is 20% so far. The article mentions its mainly operation/support staff which makes sense as you don't need them.

Bungie had 1200 employee before 2 rounds of layoffs of 100 and 220, which 26% so far. Then they also tried to integrate another 155 employees into other studios. Thats a whopping 40% of Bungie workforce gone.
 
Maybe with enough layoffs they might get something of quality. There are studios out there with far less employees making far better games than these companies.
 
Hopefully these people go off and make other studios with decent games. Sony and MS will probably just try to buy them again.
