Nostalgia (Back in my day)

Nostalgia (Back in my day)
Fun fact, did you ever wonder why an old man and a teenager are friends? Marty and the Doc know each other because Marty sells bootleg porn VHS tapes on his behalf to fund his experiments. They cut that out of the final film to make it more family friendly in order to secure their financial backing.

More commonly known is that in an alternate universe Eric Stoltz is Marty McFly. In ours he was replaced by Michael J Fox after having already shot a number of scenes. He was said to not be right for the role, but there are also numerous reports of him being a real asshole on set:

Guess what I'm watching tonight 😁

I feel like these nostalgic movies are going to be the things keeping cinemas alive. In SA the cost of a ticket and snacks per person is more than a netflix sub for a month and that's telling by the number of theatres shutting down.

Its exactly what they are doing. My local Cineworld recently had a Christopher Nolan festival where they showed all his films.

They currently have a Mission Impossible marathon happening now.

And then after that, Pirates of the Caribbean. ARGH!!!

Ster-Kinekor tried this with old movies and they have not gone down as well because they were still pricing them too high. To me it should be on getting bums in seats so that they can peddle snacks. The problem with that is it's still around R120 per head and if you take a family of 5, I'm better off ordering take out and watching it in the comfort of my home.

We are the same, it makes much more sense. You do lose out on that "going out" sadly, which in itself is special.

I also think that we are so overwhelmed and almost bombarded by entertainment in every direction these days so going to the movies doesn't have the same shine as it used to, pity.

I can’t believe they are still around here.

You go to movies here and there’s a high chance you’ll be the only ones in the theatre. Completely dead. Priced insanely too.

I went to watch Inception a few weeks ago when they had a Christopher Nolan marathon. It was empty, about 10 people, all dudes our age.

PS: Watching Inception in Imax was awesome

It’s rare, but some films still bring them in.

When I went to see Sinners at the Liemax earlier in the year, the theatre was packed. At the end of the movie people stood up and gave it a standing ovation, it was cool.

Sinners was good, had "From Dusk till Dawn" vibes.
