It does not even have a GPU - or onboard iGPU - the POST gives 5 angry long beeps because there is no display. But it runs - so beautifully!
In fact it stole my heart, and I am an AMD man. I bought it one of those cheap Antec VCX10M cases to keep it cool, still waiting for it.
This will be my work VM server, LM Studio server and do BOINC World Community Grid the rest of the time.
I am going to keep it at my parent's house by the seaside since most of the time when no one is visiting it has excess solar power to burn.
CPU : Xeon E5 2698v4 - R580 (aliexpress) + R450 (tax and duties)
Mobo : Qiyida X99 H9S - R1100 (aliexpress) + R580 (tax and duties)
RAM : 4x16GB DDR4-2400 ECC - R3200 (itadstore.co.za)
PSU : FSP 550w 80plus - R350 (yaga) + R120 (shipping and fees)
I will make a youtube video of this saga as in true Roux fashion it was a vaakup of note. But lets see how long this cheap "new" Chinese board runs at full tilt. It does have a tiny fan cooler for the VRMs, this is a 135w CPU, it is actually the C612 chipset (not X99) so in the BIOS I see support for the 2nd CPU. Maybe if this one lets go some day I will get a dual socket.
