Agree with that. Ricciardo will have to beat him pretty comprehensively though to make a proper claim for the RB seat. But then it looks like the AT will be a much better car next year.

Hopefully some of the teams that have shown improvement keep doing that but both RB and Merc have moved on to next year's car. So that advantage just keeps on rolling.

RB has always said they wanted to complete development on this years car and focus on next years early because of the limitations placed on them from the breach so their expectation is that gap will close which is why they've been so aggressive in making max's position untenable at the top. Hopefully this means it will get closer towards the end of the season.

What's sad is that all the other concepts are moving towards RB and it will end up being a very tight season just before the new rules in 2026 which will have another dominant team till everybody catches up again.

Absolutely, RB has been pretty vocal about their strategy of concentrating on next year's car while dealing with the setbacks from the breach. Their aim is to narrow the gap between them and the competition, which explains their aggressive moves to challenge Max's position at the forefront. It's a calculated approach, and with a bit of luck, we might witness a closer battle as the season progresses. Also enjoy reading Chevy equinox years to avoid here.

You're right, it's a bit unfortunate that other teams seem to be gravitating towards RB's concepts. This could indeed set the stage for an intense and closely-fought season just before the major rule changes in 2026. History does show that there's often a dominant team until others catch up, but that's what keeps the excitement alive in the world of motorsports.

F1 back this weekend, the mid season break always feels longer than it is.

Also seems like there will be some rain across the weekend, which i always welcome.

Feels even longer this year with the Chinese and Italian races cancelled earlier in the year.

Looking forward to it though.

I am just to scared to get to hopeful with the Macca's resurgance, but quietly hopeful for them to get somewhere. I even like Piastry now.

This track should suit Mercedes. If Aston does not improve at this race, then they are going to struggle for the rest of the races. McLaren will probably struggle with slow-speed corners. Ferrari will be entertaining as usual lol.

Looks like the weather could help make things interesting. I’m always happy when there’s rain around.

Same. It's the only real equaliser we get. Just a pity they don't let them race in anything worse than a drizzle now.

Piastri mistake. Dan trying to avoid a collision, but he probably should have backed off earlier as the yellow was out.

Pity as the McLaren looks very fast under Lando and Ric had that AT well into the top 10.

And there is a good chance Dani is out he injured his wrist

Confirmed now. He broke a bone in his left hand. Lawson will replace him.

Damn, I was looking forward to Ric racing again. He’s probably out of the next race too.

Yeah. Will probably take a good few weeks to heal a fracture so I’d say more than a few.
